What is a non-molestation order?
A non-molestation order is an injunction made by the family court to prevent a partner, former partner, or other associated person from causing harm. Harm includes harassment, intimidation, psychological abuse, threats of physical harm, coercive and controlling behaviour, and financial abuse—not just physical violence.
These orders can protect against many types of associated persons, not only spouses, reflecting the wide range of family and close relationships.
